Advice and follow-up

Our team of experts on research data is available on chat and email. We provide personal guidance when you archive data with us.

We give data additional value

When you archive data with us, we ensure that data meets the FAIR principles. In dialogue with the researcher, we check data integrity and anonymity.

Publication with access control and visibility

With us, you can choose whether data shall be published openly or with access restrictions. We always publish metadata so that your research becomes visible and retrievable.

Infrastructure for long-term storage

NSD is a certified infrastructure for archiving and sharing data. We are built to store data well into the future and have an agreement with The National Archives of Norway on long-term storage of research data.

Avoid double registration

The archive is integrated with our data protection and data management services, and interacts with other systems in the sector through APIs. For example, project information can be retrieved from Cristin in order to avoid double registration.

Citable data

All data archived and published by us will be assigned a permanent citable address (DOI) and a separate landing page.

Project overview for your institution (coming in 2019)

Research institutions want to and should have an overview of their own research activity. Institutions can view archived data, either on My Page or via APIs from our system [coming in 2019]. Hence researchers avoid reporting to the institutions themselves.
